Come visit the Algarve and its rich landscapes

How can you best discover the Algarve?

Start by exploring these cities

Start your adventure by visiting the charming city of Tavira.

Tavira – the city of a thousand steeples – once a base for North African expeditions during great maritime discoveries has become a quiet village right on the waters edge. There are lots of delightful places to explore in Tavira: the Moorish fortifications, the museums, the modern art exhibitions, the walks and bike rides along the Rio Gilao that run through town and passes under an old Roman bridge.

Portuguese were great sailors and have seen much of the world.  Chinese temples count among their inspiration along with those from India from whom they adopted their roof style allowing water to flow easily.

Tavira experienced the largest population after the Roman conquest (1st century BC.) because of the booming economy of fish industry. The great city of Balsa dates from that time.  It is located near Tavira connected by a road at Ossonoba (Faro) and at Baesuris (Castro Marim).  At every turn white houses point out that you are in the Algarve.

Then comes Fuseta, a small port city with its many fish restaurants.

Take also the time to discover the city of Faro, full of contrasts between the old town that kept its cultural heritage and the modern and dynamic city that offers plenty of entertainment to appeal to young and old ones.

You will certainly appreciate Lethes Theatre, former Jesuit monastery until the 17th century which since has been transformed into a theater.

Wherever you are in Portugal you cannot miss the beautiful tiles “Azulejos” that adorn the facades of houses, churches, palaces and fountains.

Come tread the shiny sand of gorgeous beaches among which:
